The introduction to the GrindHouse…it’s 4 in the morning, Martin is on TV. One of my favorite episodes with DragonFly Jones is playing in one ear…a few ladies on the couch smoking out a bong in the other. Firefall’s „Dolphin’s Lullaby is the sample of origin i used for this record. I wanted to set a euphoric background for the build up, then 8 bars into it a sample of Chance The Rapper’s „Fuck u Tahm Bout” comes in with „Waking up in grind mode and sleeping in the GrindHouse.” This refers to the studio i work and live out of, The GrindHouse, a place that Chance has worked in as well. The drums are a mix of lo-fi and 808 kicks and snares all programmed in to the Maschine. Blending elements of classic Boom Bap and modern Trap music…Welcome To The GrindHouse
