[Death Of The Party]
[Verse]
Bathroom mirror
Staring right into the eyes of a demon
Shell of a human being
Can barely keep my eyes focused on the image I'm seeing
It's all an illusion, it always was
Glamorized, make you long for a taste of
Now I'm barely alive inside all because
I let it go to my head 'long with all these drugs
Had to lock the door soon as I came in
Feel the world fading out, then it fades in
Hand full of pills, I don't know where they came from
Wash it down with sink water, let my world cave in
Now I'm just waiting
Can't tell if I'm at peace or I'm just numb
Life's a bitch after all, well okay then
Hated her the whole time, but I loved some
Tragic love song
[Hook: Joppe]
I will never stop
Turning, please turn back the time
Lights will never stop
Burning, they light up the dark
[Verse]
I've been sitting here watching you since you started this off
Let you party all night till you realized that shit can't fill the void in your heart
Really thought you'd be stronger than this
But you've shown me this whole damn world has gone soft
Now when shit doesn't go your way, you just want to quit
When did things come to this? Put that shit to a stop
High-class alcohol, sex in public
Late night glamour life, yep, we love it
But somewhere in your mind, you applied it to your own self-worth
It became your world, your drug-induced earth
Yeah, we all have the tendency to take it to far
But it left you convulsing on the bathroom floor
Turned your inner battle to an all-out war
Yeah, I've seen this before
Been around for a couple of thousand years, know jealousy when I see it
You're watching friends post pics on the web of them partying, having fun
In your mind you want to be it
It's like you've got something to prove, want to believe it
Instead of saying "fuck them," now you've fucked up
Really want to go on with the tough love
But I can't let you die got to teach ya
Rest in peace or live the rest in pieces
[Hook]
[Bridge]
Oh, yeah
Rest in peace, uh (X3)
Rest in peace, uh
Rest in peace, uh
[Outro]
Oh, we got it
You're the life of the party
Oh, you got it
I'm the death of the party
I'm the death of the party
And for that I am sorry
I'm the death of the party
I'm the death of the party (X3)
Oh, we got it
You're the life of the party
Oh, you got it
I'm the death of the party
But this time, I'm not sorry
I'm the death of the party
I'm the death of the party
Rest in peace
[Interlude: Captain Kirk]
The young man lies on the floor of the bar bathroom, his life now fading from his body. He was aware that this might happen. His already intoxicated and clouded mind, damaged by the events of the night, had taken him over the edge. The pills given to him earlier by the girl just before their sexual encounter settle in his stomach and before long, he collapses. Overdose....Right over him stands a dark figure, watching him hesitantly. "This motherfucker," he says with a hollow voice. "I was never supposed to actually step in, never supposed to get involved with any of this - I was only meant to watch and learn." But the figure, Coyote, knows that if he doesn't intervene, the young man will die, and having spent the entire night chronicling the young man's adventures and now, his downfall, Coyote, as non-human as he is, can't bring himself to allow this young man to perish this way. And it was at that moment that he realized...he had something in common with the young man. They both secretly, deep down in the pit of their souls, had something that they had long buried and thought would never truly surface. But for the both of them, it was now doing just that. It was the fuck. The one thing they both said they'd never give for any reason for the sake of preserving their own egos was now exposed to the world, and by world, I mean...their world. Their carefully conceived reality. Coyote steps in and saves the young man; brings him back to life without any complications. The young man will take it as a miracle, a sign that he's been given a second chance to do something better with his life. He'll go on living with a new outlook on all things and understand that nothing good can come from living for someone else, living to impress others, or even living to impress yourself, that is to say, your own ego. You can have fun without losing a part of what makes you who you are. You can enjoy life without being swallowed in by the darkness of reality. You just have to stay true to yourself and remember that you are the only "you" this universe will ever have. Coyote is thousands, maybe even millions of years old; likely as old as humanity itself. But he still finds himself learning new things every day. Or maybe he already knew this lesson, which is more likely. He just needed the reminder, like we all sometimes do. As the sun begins to rise in the distance over the downtown area, Coyote is also reminded that it's time to return to Earth. For real this time. He knows that she misses him as much as he misses her. He has always considered this world to be his one true lover, just as the young man had felt of his city. And now it's time for them to be reunited
It starts and it ends...Downtown
