„Of Dust And Nations” opowiada nam o tym, jak wszystko co uważamy za trwałe jest bezsilne w starciu z czasem. Według Dustina nie powinniśmy się kierować w życiu materialnymi potrzebami, bo nic co możemy zdobyć nie będzie trwało przy nas wiecznie. W końcu każdemu z nas przyjdzie pożegnać się z tym światem, a wtedy nawet największe bogactwo, władza czy przedmioty statusu nie będą nic warte.
Tylko rozwijając samych siebie i pokładając nadzieję w Bogu możemy według wokalisty naprawdę coś osiągnąć. Nasza wędrówka po tym świecie powinna być motywowana chęcią osiągnięcia zbawienia po śmierci, a nie „uprzyjemniania” sobie doczesnego życia. Musimy kierować się miłością, dobrocią i sprawiedliwością, a nie egoistycznymi pobudkami, bo w przeciwnym razie zatracimy prawdziwy sens tej podróży.
Kensrue chce wskazać nam właściwą drogę, utożsamiając ją w wierze we wszechmogącego Boga, miłość w czystej postaci. Wszystko inne jest tylko iluzją szczęścia, pozbawioną w rzeczywistości jakiegokolwiek znaczenia.
