The U.S. National Security Agency tracked over 60 million calls in Spain in a month, a Spanish newspaper said on Monday, using a document which it said formed part of papers obtained from ex-NSA contractor Edward Snowden. Spain’s government has so far said it was not aware its citizens had been spied on by the NSA, which has been accused of accessing thousands of French phone records and monitoring the phone of German chancellor Angela Merkel.Spain on Friday resisted calls from Germany for the European Union’s 28 member states to reach a „no-spy deal”, similar to an agreement Berlin and Paris are seeking, though Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said the country was looking for more information.

The most profitable fast-food chain in the U.S. isn’t Pizza Hut or KFC–for years, it’s been Taco Bell. With the success of Doritos Locos Tacos, the upscale Cantina Bell menu, and breakfast (available world Wide next year), Taco Bell’s comparable sales have been up for seven consecutive quarters, including a 2 percent increase in the most recent period. Taco bell might be the most popular fast food just because of a taco made of nacho chips.

The Navy’s newest warship slipped out of dry dock this week into the waters of Maine, marking a new era for war fighting at sea.The USS Zumwalt, the first of the DDG-1000 class of destroyers, is longer, faster and carries state-of-the-art weapons that will allow it to destroy targets at more than 60 miles, according to the Navy.At 610 feet long and 81 feet wide, the Zumwalt is longer and thinner than the USS Arizona, a battleship sunk at Pearl Harbor. But it weighs about half as much.Much of the ship’s superstructure is wrapped in a huge, canopy made of lightweight carbon fiber composite.The canopy and the rest of the ship is built on angles that help make it 50 times harder to spot on radar than an ordinary destroyer.”It has the radar cross-section of a fishing boat,” said Chris Johnson a spokesperson for Naval Sea Systems Command.
