„They Don’t Need To Understand” to utwór skierowany do wszystkich młodych ludzi, którzy cierpią z powodu tego, że nie do końca pasują do reszty społeczeństwa. Andy zwraca się tutaj do outsiderów, chcąc ich wesprzeć i umocnić w tym, by nie dawali się nagiąć do społeczeństwa i nie stali się zwyłymi szarymi ludźmi.
Sam Biersack jest tego najlepszym przykładem. Widzimy, że jego dzieciństwo nie należało do najprostszych, od małego nie przepadał za towarzystwem i wolał spędzać czas sam ze sobą. Miał oczywiście wiele problemów przez tę fobię społeczną, ale przez lata nauczył się ją kontrolować, a nawet przekuć w coś kreatywnego, używając lęku jako inspiracji do swej twórczości.
Teraz, gdy jest już dorosły, doszedł do wniosku, że udało mu się zmężnieć do tego stopnia, że nie do końca pamięta, jak czuł się jako nastolatek. Problemy, które wtedy miał wydają się teraz odległe. Dlatego właśnie Andy poprzez ten kawałek chce podnieść na duchu podobnych mu ludzi. To, że teraz przeżywają ciężki okrez w swoim życiu nie znaczy, że będzie tak zawsze. Jeżeli będą autentyczni i się nie poddadzą, wszystko w końcu minie.
