Tekst piosenki
Morning, why am I dreaming of falling?
Not afraid of the sky
Was all in my mind
Now I’m falling for you
You’re smiling
And I can feel you arriving
This is the night of rebirth
A message from Earth telling me what to do
This dream of you is my way of coping
It’s not just us, the world is broken
About time that these words were spoken
I leave them right here in the open
Tonight I’ve taken to this notion
That you’re my one true love’s devotion
I take my chance, now it’s the moment
I can’t lose now, it’s you I’ve chosen
I can’t lose now, it’s you I’ve chosen
I can’t lose now, it’s you I’ve chosen
I got this dream of you
Meaning, now I’m finally breathing
Every scar says it all
There’s a door in the wall
And I’ll meet you there
Fading, the polaroids of my paintings
Colors evaporate
Darkness creates
The light where we can be born
This dream of you is my way of coping
It’s not just us, the world is broken
About time that these words were spoken
I leave them right here in the open
Tonight I’ve taken to this notion
That you’re my one true love’s devotion
I take my chance, now it’s the moment
I can’t lose now, it’s you I’ve chosen
I can’t lose now, it’s you I’ve chosen
It’s you, it’s you
I can’t lose now, it’s you I’ve chosen
I got this dream of you
Of you
Of you
Of you
This dream of you is my way of coping
It’s not just us, the world is broken
About time that these words were spoken
I leave them right here in the open
Tłumaczenie piosenki
Analiza piosenki
Tekst opowiada o uczuciu, które staje się dla bohatera sposobem radzenia sobie z chaosem, bólem i poczuciem, że świat wokół jest „zepsuty”. Sen o drugiej osobie daje mu poczucie sensu, odrodzenia i ulgi. Zamiast lęku pojawia się decyzja, żeby zaufać temu uczuciu i wybrać właśnie tę osobę jako kogoś najważniejszego.
W drugiej części mocno wybrzmiewa motyw przemiany.
