Patrząc na otaczającą nas rzeczywistość nie sposób nie dostrzegać problemów, jakie nękają część ludzkości. Bieda, głód, niesprawiedliwość – to wszystko to realne zagrożenia, nawet jeśli w naszym codziennym życiu ciężko je zauważyć. W „Possibilities” Mullins chce nam uświadomić, że jesteśmy w stanie zrobić coś z nierównościami społecznymi i cierpieniem dotkniętych nimi ludzi. Problem polega na tym, że w codziennym życiu skupiamy się tylko na sobie i najbliższym otoczeniu.
Widząc zniszczenia i rozpacz w mediach może i czujemy ukłucie współczucia, ale dalej są to dla nas sprawy zbyt abstrakcyjne, oddzielone od tego, co sami przeżywamy, by zostawiło to w nas trwały ślad. Jest nam żal ludzi dotkniętych ubóstwem i głodem, ale na samym żalu się niestety często kończy, bo jesteśmy zbyt zajęci dbaniem o własny mały świat, by myśleć o całej naszej planecie. Możemy jednak naprawdę coś zmienić, jeśli tylko posuniemy się o krok dalej w swoim współczuciu.
Zamiast zadowalać się tylko myśleniem o pokrzywdzonych, naprawdę wyciągnijmy do nich rękę. Wokalista pragnie, byśmy wyciągnęli rękę do tych w potrzebie, podzielili się tym, co mamy, zainteresowali ich cierpieniem. W końcu to od nas zależy, jak wygląda świat, my go zamieszkujemy i mamy siłę by wprowadzać rzeczywiste zmiany. Trzeba tylko uwierzyć w to, że możemy.
