„After Party” to utwór, który pochodzi z wydanego 13 marca 2020 roku debiutanckiego solowego albumu studyjnego Dona Tolivera, zatytułowanego „Heaven Or Hell.” Wydawnictwo jest też drugim projektem Artysty, następcą debiutanckiego mixtape „Donny Womack.”
Po raz pierwszy zapowiedź i fragment utworu „After Party” pojawiły się w filmie dokumentalnym Travisa Scotta pod tytułem „Look Mom I Can Fly” z sierpnia 2019 roku, który koncentrował się głównie na jego życiu, lider Cactus Jack Records niespodziewanie zapowiedział w nim nową muzykę Tolivera.
We wrześniu 2019 roku raper współpracujący z Cactus Jack – Chedda Da Connect, ujawniła tytuł piosenki w jednym z komentarzy zamieszczonych na Instagramie, gdzie odrzucił fanowską nazwę „Lamborghini.” 2 września 2019 roku Don Toliver zapowiadał swoją współpracę z Chedda Da Connect na Twitterze, gdzie opublikował dwa wiersze zwrotki Travisa.
9 listopada 2019 r. Podczas drugiego dorocznego festiwalu Travisa Scotta ASTROWORLD, Don Toliver udostępnił duży fragment utworu „After Party.” W tym secie piosenka została przerwana przed rozpoczęciem sekwencji Travisa Scotta, co doprowadziło fanów do przekonania, że fragmenty z udziałem Travis Scott zostały wycięte z piosenki, co ostatecznie okazało się być prawdą.
