„Excelsis” to utwór szwedzkiego zespołu rock-metalowego Ghost, wcześniej znanego także jako Ghost B.C. Piosenka pochodzi z albumu „Skeletá”. Wydawnictwo ukazało się 25 kwietnia 2025 roku za pośrednictwem wytwórni Loma Vista Recordings oraz Concord.
Lider Ghost, Tobias Forge powiedział o piosence: „Choć przesłanie jest w nim bardzo śmiercionośne, to po prostu oznacza, że jeśli tego słuchasz, żyjesz i powinieneś przeżyć swoje życie tak efektywnie, jak to możliwe, bo śmierć jest nieunikniona”.
„Excelsis” (po łacinie „na wysokości”, często kojarzone ze zwrotem „Gloria in excelsis Deo”) to melancholijna, ale transcendentna piosenka, która eksploruje tematy ostateczności, odkupienia i poddania się nieuniknionemu. Teksty przeplatają duchowe obrazy z egzystencjalną akceptacją, sugerując podróż w stronę życia pozagrobowego, apokalipsy lub metafizycznej przemiany.
W przeciwieństwie do typowych satanistycznych akcentów Ghost, ta piosenka bardziej przypomina hymn pogrzebowy — ponury, refleksyjny i dziwnie pocieszający w swojej akceptacji zakończeń. „Excelsis” to przejmująco piękne rozważanie nad zakończeniami, łącząc pogrzebową powagę z niepokojącą nadzieją.
