„Everything Matters” to wydany 7 stycznia 2022 roku szósty oficjalny singiel, po piosenkach „Exist for Love”, „Giving In to the Love”, „Heathens” oraz „Cure for Me”, wydany w ramach promocji trzeciego albumu studyjnego norweskiej piosenkarki i autorki tekstów Aurory Aksnes, zatytułowanego „The Gods We Can Touch.” Premiera wydawnictwa została zapowiedziana na 21 stycznia 2022 roku.
Równocześnie z „Everything Matters” ukazał się także singiel „A Dangerous Thing.” W rozmowie dla NME AURORA powiedziała: „(…) Często mam wrażenie, że ten świat stara się skoncentrować na tych wszystkich wielkich cudach. I jakoś czuję, że to sprawia, że tęsknię za tymi małymi. I to jest smutne. Bo małe cuda zdarzają się cały czas. Czasami kilka razy dziennie. I chcę zobaczyć je wszystkie. Ponieważ wszystko ma znaczenie.”
Artystka wypowiedziała się także na temat całego zapowiadanego projektu „The Gods We Can Touch”: „Nie mogę się doczekać, aż zacznę dawać am więcej muzyki, a więcej muzyki się pojawi. Zaufajcie mi. I przechodzimy do bardzo ekscytującego tematu, na którym bardzo mi zależy. Myślę, że nowy motyw całego mojego albumu łączy się w dużej mierze z tym, co robimy, jak się zachowujemy i jak traktujemy mężczyzn i kobiety, gejów i hetero oraz wybory polityczne, których dokonujemy. Czuję, że to wszystko łączy się z tym nowym tematem, w który się wybieram. Ale tak, jestem po prostu podekscytowana tym, co nadejdzie!”
