starts out with explaining a narrative and how to narrative. Frederick Douglass was a slave who was educated by the mistress of his owner. She thought him to read and write and with more knowledge he was able to free himself. Even though he was a slave he never hated his owners just the fact that he was own by his own equal. Back then it was a crime though to learn to read and write for color folk.
