„Viva Las Vengeance” to pierwszy album wydany przez Panic! at the Disco od 2018 roku, od czasu premiery przebojowego wydawnictwa „Pray For The Wicked”, które pokryło się pięciokrotną platyną. Sam Brendon Urie tłumaczył: „’Viva Las Vengeance’ to spojrzenie na to, kim byłem 17 lat temu i kim jestem teraz. Spojrzenie z pewną czułością, której nie miałem wcześniej. Nie zdawałem sobie sprawy, że tworzę album, a magnetofon, na który nagrywałem, w jakiś sposób sprawiał, że byłem bardzo szczery.”
