Maisie stwierdziła: „tej piosenki absolutnie nie mogłabym napisać jako nastolatka – jest w niej za dużo szacunku do samej siebie, szczerze mówiąc lol. Czuje się zdeterminowana i pełna siły, i jak moment przygnębienia, a naprawdę mnie rozczarowałeś i jestem tym naprawdę załamana, ale wiesz, mam coś do zrobienia na światowej trasie koncertowej i nie chcę się smucić (I tak dużo się smuciłam, nie martw się), ten rodzaj chwili. Graliśmy to w trasie przez kilka ostatnich koncertów i jest tak pełne zabawy i energii, że nie mogę się doczekać, aż poznasz wszystkie słowa”.
Tak na temat całego projektu „The Good Witch” wypowiedziała się Peters: „[…] Kiedy przeglądałam mój następny album, zdałam sobie sprawę, że 'obsesja’ będzie największym słowem na mojej mapie słów. Myślę, że kobiety są dość prywatne ze swoimi obsesjami, może z wyjątkiem innych kobiet, i czasami jest to zabawne, ponieważ ludzie mówią: 'Oh, masz taką obsesję’. A ty mówisz: 'Nie masz pojęcia’. To jest tylko powierzchnia obsesji”.
