„Heirlooms” to utwór pochodzący z wydanego 2 września 2022 roku trzeciego pełnowymiarowego albumu studyjnego Niny Nesbitt. Wydawnictwo noszące tytuł „Älskar” ukazało się nakładem wytwórni Cooking Vinyl. W ramach promocji albumu wcześniej ukazały się single: „No Time (For My Life to Suck)”, „Pressure Makes Diamonds”, „Dinner Table”, „When You Lose Someone” oraz „Colours of You.”
Projekt „Älskar” jest następcą albumu „The Sun Will Come up, The Seasons Will Change” z lutego 2019 roku oraz towarzyszącej mu, wydanej w listopadzie 2019 roku, wersji deluxe – „The Sun Will Come up, The Seasons Will Change & The Flowers Will Fall.”
Nina tłumaczyła: „Usłyszałam piosenkę Brandi Carlile zatytułowaną 'The Mother’, w której śpiewa o byciu mamą i muzykiem, i byłam tak zainspirowana, że chciałam napisać własną wersję. Oczywiście nie jestem matką, ale to trochę gra w moim umyśle – na przykład, jak miałabym to zrobić ze swoją pracą? Napisałam tę piosenkę przez Zoom ze szkockim autorem piosenek o imieniu Dave Gibson, któremu właśnie urodziło się dziecko. Rozmawialiśmy o tym, że chcemy przekazać naszym dzieciom tylko dobre rzeczy, a nie nasze negatywne cechy, co jest oczywiście dość nierealne. A piosenka w dużej mierze płynęła z tego myślenia.”
Tytuł albumu „Älskar” odnosi się do szwedzkiego słowa oznaczającego „miłość.” Wybór szwedzkiego słowa na tytuł krążka nie jest przypadkowy, ponieważ matka Nesbitt pochodzi ze Szwecji. W ciągu ostatnich dwóch lat poprzedzających wydanie albumu Nesbitt bardziej eksplorowała swoje szwedzkie korzenie. Nauczyła się języka szwedzkiego, a duża część jej albumu została nagrana w Szwecji.
