„Cry on the Dance Floor” to utwór pochodzący z wydanego 16 lutego 2024 roku szóstego pełnowymiarowego albumu studyjnego Palomy Faith. Część materiału, która znalazła się na krążku „The Glorification of Sadness” zainspirowana została rozwodem Palomy z mężem, francuskim artystą Leymanem Lahcine.
Paloma w taki sposób wypowiedziała się na temat utworu: „Jedyna piosenka, której nie napisałam podczas tego rozstania – napisałam to dawno temu. Przy każdym albumie, który nagrywałam, myślałam: 'Chcę wydać to nagranie!’. I wszyscy zawsze mówili: 'Nie, to nie w porządku’. To nie pasuje!”
„Nawet w przypadku tej płyty. Ale w narracji jest to moment, w którym wychodzisz i zachowujesz się lekkomyślnie, pijesz za dużo lub zachowujesz się nieodpowiedzialnie. Straciłaś całe poczucie własnej wartości, więc nawet cię to nie obchodzi. Po prostu zapełniłam nim cały dom i garaż, ponieważ to jest moja przeszłość. To było wtedy, gdy byłam młoda i było tym, co mnie interesowało w latach 90.…| napisałam to z MJ Cole’em, który jest kluczową osobą tamtej epoki”.
