„The Red Baron” to drugi singiel z nadchodzącego albumu Sabaton „The Great War”, koncepcyjnego albumu poświęconego historiom z pierwszej wojny światowej. Richthofen zdobył reputację ciągnącego ryzykowne manewry, takie jak latanie w chmurach z piorunami przeciwko rozkazom jego dowódców.
Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen, „Czerwony baron” urodził się na Prusach w rodzinie, która miała długą historię służby państwowej. Jest największym powietrznym asem Wielkiej Wojny z ponad 80 zabójstwami przypisywanymi jego imieniu, co przynosi mu Pour le Merite, jedno z największych zaszczytów Cesarskich Niemiec. Richthofen namalował swój samolot na czerwono, a to w połączeniu z jego tytułem doprowadziło do tego, że nazywano go „Czerwonym Baronem”.
Richthofen został zabity podczas lotu 21 kwietnia 1918 r., w wieku 25 lat.
