I continue to read the book. The youth wanders around in the forest. Depress and angry to himself, he kicks the tree and throws pine cone at squirrel, putting his stress to nature. He walks for awhile, then he meets a man sits under the tree motionless. Henry comes closer and takes a closer look, the „man” he sees is a corpse. The corpse’s flesh and eyes got eaten by ants and worms. It wears a faded blue uniform; he was a soldier that died long time ago. Henry panics and runs away.

I continue to read the book. Henry comes upon a division, his face soaked with sweat and redden from running. All soldiers are wounded from the fight, but all of them wear a happy, triumphant face. The youth joins the group and walks. An old man comes up to him and talks how awesome the battle is. The youth uneasy smiles and flows along with the conversation. And then the old man says „Where are you hurting boy?”
