Podobnie jak w Last Dying Breath, Sabaton nawiązuje tutaj do wydarzeń I wojny światowej. Tym razem przenosimy się na front zachodni, do położonego w północno-wschodniej Francji Lasu Argońskiego. Szwedzi przypominają historię tytułowego Zagubionego Batalionu, która rozegrała się tuż przed końcem konfliktu, w pierwszych dniach października 1918 roku.
Stany Zjednoczone przez długi czas pozostawały neutralne wobec europejskiego konfliktu; dopiero w kwietniu 1917 roku wypowiedziały wojnę Niemcom. Musiał jednak minąć jeszcze rok, zanim Amerykanie mogli w znaczącej liczbie pojawić się na froncie zachodnim. Jesienią 1918 roku wojska USA, dowodzone przez generała Pershinga, atakowały pod Saint-Mihiel oraz w Lesie Argońskim.
2 października Amerykanie nacierali w głąb Lasu Argońskiego z przekonaniem, że oba skrzydła ofensywy są osłaniane przez sojuszników. Posunęli się jednak zbyt daleko naprzód, a ofensywa francuska z lewego skrzydła została odparta. W rezultacie około pół tysiąca żołnierzy zostało okrążonych przez siły niemieckie. Tylko 194 zdołało przełamać linie przeciwnika i uniknąć śmierci lub niewoli (Przebili się przez blokadę, byli wreszcie ocaleni).
Wydarzenia o których śpiewa Sabaton stały się kanwą dwóch filmów, nakręconych w 1919 oraz 2001 roku.
