1. What is your favorite lyrics from.. The Truth?
My favorite lyrics from this record would literally be all of them because they came right from the heart but my ultimate favorite lines would be.. „I need to focus. Crying cause something broke us.” those lyrics are from a song called „Focus” on my album
Another favorite lyric is.. „I’m just like you, I break and bend and burn, I cry and crash and crush into pieces, I swear I’m one in a billion.” those lyrics are from a song called „How Dare You” on my album
Lastly, „You don’t know that I’m here hurting in bed.. In another life, better things would have been said.” those lyrics are from a song called „Another Life” on my album
2. What does The Truth mean to you?
To me, The truth means being honest and open. I’ve dealt with a lot of things in the past but yet, I also have a great life. I make mistakes but I learn and change from them. This album is just me wanting to share my side. People thought that it was perfectly fine to say whatever they want.. thinking „Oh, it won’t bother her” or „Oh, this won’t hurt her and make her upset” I was like okay fine think whatever you want but at the end of the day, I know my story and I know the actual truth. Its not like a „proving people wrong” kind of album, its a „Its my time, my life” album. The truth means an understanding of what I’m going through or what I’ve already been through. All I ever wanted was for people to show some respect and kindness
3. What song got you really pumped up and excited for the release?
The song that got me all full of happiness and joy was a song called „My Heartbreaker” which was a collaboration with a great friend of mine. I love her dearly and it was just an incredible experience to write this with her. I was definitely stoked about the release of that song, and it happens to be the first single as well
4. What has changed with you since the last album?
The last album was really fun and amazing but I feel completely different because my whole writing process just changed too. I loved that though, I really feel older in my newer material. These lyrics are an actual part of me, its real. Its who I am. My last album was experimental for me, I really got to switch things up this time. I’m just proud. I’m also just genuinely happy
5. Whats good advice for songwriting?
Alright well start with brainstorming to get your best thoughts flowing. For this album, I really thought through everything. I wanted to make sure it defined me or my feelings. Songwriters should always know that time, patience, and commitment .. will bring you your best work
6. What can you say about your second single?
My second single was the first song I ever wrote for this album. Its coming out on November 14th because the person that actually inspired that song.. their birthday is on that day. I’m really nervous about that song because it is so emotional for me but also really nice to hear. I Don’t Know What To Do is the title
