Patrząc na to, co dzieje się z naszym światem ciężko jest dziwić się, że Marko rysuje tu tak przygnębiający obraz współczesnej ludzkości. „Locking Up The Sun” to kawałek opowiadający o tym, jak ciężko jest żyć w rzeczywistości, w której z każdej strony zdaje się atakować nas zło i niesprawiedliwość. Mamy tu do czynienia z czymś na kształt protest songu, wymierzonego w system, prowadzący społeczeństwo do upadku.
Autor wzywa nas do tego, byśmy przestali dawać sobą manipulować i byśmy w końcu wyrwali się spod zgubnego wpływu ludzi, którzy próbują nas kontrolować. Wokół nas coraz więcej jest konfliktów, przemocy, biedy i egoizmu, przez co nieuchronnie zbliżamy się do tragedii. Wartości, jakimi powinniśmy się kierować umierają, a my zmieniamy się w rzeszę bezmyślnych, posłusznych niewolników.
Wydaje się nam, że nie ma żadnej nadziei, nic nie jesteśmy w stanie zrobić, ale według wokalisty jest to nieprawda. Wszechobecną pustkę da się zwalczyć, jeżeli tylko będziemy tego chcieli. Każdy z nas jest panem swojego losu i nie powinniśmy wierzyć, że może być inaczej. Musimy znaleźć w sobie siłę i wziąć w końcu sprawy w swoje ręce. Zamiast odwracać głowy, gdy dzieje się niesprawiedliwość, musimy się sprzeciwić. Tylko bunt przeciwko apatii jest w stanie nas uratować.
